Venus is a problem planet to be sure to terraform, however a few moments of thought brings us to one clear conclusion, and that is to make Venus even remotely usable in any way over time, the only thing that can and must be done is to cool the planet (and if possible increase its rate of spin), and that can only be done by shielding it literally from the intense sun exposure, such that if we build and install over time, orbital sun shields over time, that at some point the temperature will drop, and it becomes a matter of adjusting these shielding operations to adjust the Venusian surface temperatures to that which would make human operations comfortable, such as 50-75 degrees f, earth standard., at one ATM of pressure...  if these standards cannot be met, we can at least bring the temperature down to reduce the atmospheric pressure and temperature enough to make mining the surface possible by robot systems, which would mean bringing the surface pressure down to Earth levels so that with temperature controlled building enviornments and heated suits or robots we could make serious use of the surface just as we might make use of the moon which is at near zero degrees.  In other words, as long as we have the full technology to mine the moon, we could mine Venus if we could simply cool it enough to reduce its toxic high pressure atmosphere to cool it's toxic acidic liquids and gases.

Venus, is literally a twin Earth, but its just too close to the sun, and it's chemistry has developed it into a molten hell, but that can be changed, but any realisitic proposals will take hundreds if not thousands of years, so it is a long term project to be sure.  But, since it has comprable gravity we could mine it, and reap vast rewards from its virtually endless resources if we can cool it down from the insane temperatures it has today.  (As well as increase it's spin rate, as presently it spins once every year and would leave one side heated and the other side cool, much like Mercury.)

 

We can do it, if we as a species have the will to make the effort and the expense.
